The MIraGE training sessions for Employers have been successfully completed in Sweden!

In Sweden, SwIdeas AB has successfully conducted 2 sessions of the MIraGE training for employers. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, both sessions were held online, gathering 40 people in total from all over Sweden.

The training targeted Swedish employers and organizations which were interested in employing third country nationals (TCNs) or in showing a general interest in the topic of workplace diversity. Its main goal was to enhance employers’ knowledge and motivation for integrating TCNs in their workplace. The group of employers who participated in the training included people from a wide range of professional settings and backgrounds, with different expectations and previous knowledge and experience within the field of migration and labour market integration.

In the training sessions, the trainers discussed the opportunities and challenges for immigrants in the Swedish labour market and how to employ immigrants with financial support from the Swedish Public Employment Agency. The trainers and the participants also talked about the beneficial aspects of intercultural communication to create an inclusive working environment and the intercultural aspects to creating an open and dynamic organisation and workplace.
