Employers from Slobozia – prepared and informed about integration of TCNs into the Romanian labour market

The 3rd training for employers from Romania took place in Slobozia city. The event held with the support of the Ialomita County School Inspectorate gathered representatives of municipal enterprises, companies, employers, teachers and representatives of different schools, local NGOs and public authorities.

One of the topics that was highlighted by the participants concerned the Romanian education sector that is significantly influenced by migration, both emigration and immigration as the Romania education sector is also facing labour shortages. Moreover, the Romanian educational system registers high percentages of school dropping and at the same time is confronted with the situation of children left behind and children that came or return to Romania with no knowledge of Romanian language or basic cultural information.

The participants had the opportunity to find about the legislative framework in Romania regarding the recruitment of foreigners or about workplace integration. Presentations and discussions also focused on the legal requirements and good practices for Romanian employers wishing to hire TCNs, information on the inclusion of foreign workers at the workplace, elements of interculturality and diversity management, as well as on the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
