What are the Most Demanded Jobs in the Swedish Labour Market?

SwIdeas AB in Sweden has conducted a series of four modules within the MIraGE training for third country nationals (TCNs). During the sessions, the trainers and the participants discussed which jobs that will be needed in the Swedish labour market. In fact, it is predicted that in only 5 years, the Swedish labour market will face a shortage of trained labour. This research has been published by the Swedish Public Employment Agency, which also shared the impressive number that the total deficit of workers is expected to amount to 100,000 people in the next five years (Arbetsförmedlingen, 2019: “Var finns jobben?”).

55% of these jobs are predicted to appear in the sectors of health care and educational work. The professions that will be most in demand include upper-secondary school teachers, engineers, dentists, bus and train drivers, pre-school teachers, nurses, IT professionals, mechanics, doctors, educators, and cooks.
